Scout Hall Field, Sullivan's Island

Scout Hall Field

Scout Hall Field was a gift to the town from Barton’s Mines. The company sponsored a local Boy Scout Troop and erected a small building in which the troop could meet, stating that if ever the troop dissolved, the land and building would be turned over to the town. The hope was that the area would be used for children. A playground was built, and a youth ball field constructed. The field is actively used by Johnsburg Youth Athletics each ball season; the playground has entertained many children while attending family celebrations at Scout Hall.

Sullivan’s Island

Sullivan’s Island is a quirky, undeveloped space—a small island in the Hudson just off the north end of Main Street, North Creek. Access is only by water. The Open Space Institute deeded this space to the Town. FJP will work with planning professionals to determine the best way to access and use this interesting space.
