Riverfront Park
Riverfront Park, a 1.5 acre linear riparian park which borders the Hudson River, provides easy walking access to Main Street North Creek. This area, owned by Warren County, was the beneficiary of the Warren County Planning Department’s work on a Streetscape grant request received in the early 2000’s. A small portion of the park was granted to the Town of Johnsburg in 2009 by Warren County. The rest of the area will be acquired in the future. Large, old buildings used for storing goods to be shipped by train, today house a summer artisan, Adirondack Glass Blowing Studio. The local Farmers’ Market is held every week throughout the summer and evening concerts while people picnic are scheduled throughout July and August. A local museum, The Depot Museum, exhibits North Creek’s railroad and ski history; train tracks offer a business opportunity to Revolution Rail who provide a rail,-buggy to pedal along the river. Throughout the summer season, more than 30,000 people visit River Front Park. The Riverwalk Trail leaves the park, following a small stream (the North Creek) emerging at Tannery Pond Community Center on Main Street. A connection can be made to the Carol Thomas trail on the other side of Main Street with a short walk to Ski Bowl Park.
